VANCOUVER, WA, Oct 06, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Nautilus, Inc. (NYSE: NLS), a pure fitness company, has been named the exclusive supplier of circuit and cardiovascular equipment for Fit Zone for Women(R), a fast-growing chain of fitness and weight loss centers created specifically for the way women work out and now available for franchise.
The supplier arrangement involves providing a 26-piece assortment of high-quality Nautilus(R) strength and cardio exercise equipment for each 4,000 square foot facility, as demand grows for conveniently located fitness and group exercise programs in neighborhoods across the country.
"We have decided to use only Nautilus brand equipment because it is the finest equipment money can buy and the only line designed with women in mind," said Gretchen Shannon, president of Fit Zone for Women.
"Our customers are women who seek real results in a short amount of time, so we want to provide them a resistance training circuit that is engineered to provide a safe, effective workout. We especially like the attention to detail in Nautilus equipment, such as a slight squeeze of the handle to move equipment into the appropriate position, and resistance that can be added a pound at a time rather than unwieldy 10 pound increments."
Founded in 2003, the Kalamazoo, Mich.-based Fit Zone for Women began franchising in February of 2006 and has already sold more than 50 locations in Michigan, California, Florida, Indiana and Wisconsin. Each center incorporates a variety of group exercise and aerobic programming, a cardio center with a wireless entertainment system, and the Nautilus circuit which is designed to achieve a full-body workout in only 18 minutes. Fit Zone for Women centers are designed to pick up where circuit-only women's facilities left off by offering a real health club with real equipment for women looking for real results.
"Fit Zone for Women is a well-designed concept for women of all ages who prefer working out with others but not in large club settings," said Tim Hawkins, President of Fitness Equipment for Nautilus, Inc. "We believe this spa-like approach will attract more women to an active fitness lifestyle to make them live longer and feel better."
